Shingle roofs
Signs your shingle roof needs repair or replacement
A few things you can spot from the ground that tell you whether a shingle roof needs a small fix or a full replacement.

What you can see from the ground
Missing shingles, shingles that are curled or cupped at the edges, and bare spots where the granules have worn away are all signs a roof is aging or was damaged.
After a strong wind, look for shingle pieces in the yard. After hail, look for dents on gutters and vents — they often mean the shingles took hits too.
What you might notice inside
Water stains on ceilings, damp spots in the attic, or daylight showing through roof boards all point to a leak. Leaks usually start around chimneys, vents, and valleys, not always where the stain shows up.
Repair or replace?
If the damage is in one area and the rest of the roof is sound, a repair is often enough. If problems show up all over, or the roof is simply old, replacement usually makes more sense.
We will tell you which one we think you need, and if replacement is the answer, we can lay out both shingle and metal options. Call (812) 225-4259 for a free estimate.
