Asphalt Shingles

Asphalt shingle roofing in Southern Indiana.

Metal is what we are known for, but it is not the only roof we put on. For homeowners who want the classic look of shingles, or where shingles are simply the better fit for the house and the budget, our crew installs and repairs asphalt shingle roofs across Hardinsburg, Salem, Paoli, Corydon, Bedford, Bloomington, and the Louisville area.

Why Shingles

Why some homeowners choose shingles.

A classic look

Shingles are the traditional roof on many homes in the area, and some homeowners simply prefer how they look from the road.

Lower upfront cost

A shingle roof generally costs less to install than metal, which can matter when the budget is tight right now.

Fits many roof shapes

Shingles work well on roofs with lots of angles, valleys, and dormers, and blend in with neighborhoods where most roofs are shingled.

Repairs one section at a time

Damaged shingles can usually be replaced in a small area without redoing the whole roof.

Dimensional shingles we install

Dramatic color contrast and dimension in a wide range of colors, with sure-nail technology rated for wind up to 130 mph.

Warranties

A 25 year algae resistant warranty on the shingles, plus our 5 year workmanship warranty on the install.

Shingles or Metal?

An honest side-by-side.

These are general, industry-wide ranges. How any roof actually performs depends on the product, the installation, ventilation, and the weather it sees.

How It Works

A shingle job with our crew.

  1. 01

    Free estimate on site

We come out, look at the roof, and give you a clear estimate in plain terms.

  2. 02

    Tear-off and deck check

The old roof comes off and we check the wood underneath, so problems are fixed rather than covered up.

  3. 03

    Underlayment and flashing

New underlayment goes down, with flashing around chimneys, walls, and vents where leaks usually start.

  4. 04

    Shingles installed

Shingles go on in straight, even courses, finished with ridge caps.

  5. 05

    Cleanup and walkthrough

We clean up the site and walk the finished job with you.

Storm or hail damage?

We can inspect the roof, document what we find, and help you understand the insurance claim process before you commit to anything. More on insurance help →

Repairs

Common shingle problems we fix.

Missing or lifted shingles

Wind can loosen or tear off shingles. We replace them and check the surrounding area.

Leaks around chimneys and vents

Most leaks start at flashing and penetrations. We track them to the source.

Moss and dark streaks

Staining and moss can hold moisture on the roof. Roof cleaning is one of the services we offer.

Worn-out roofs

When a shingle roof is past repair, we will tell you honestly and lay out shingle and metal replacement options.

FAQ

Shingle questions, answered.

Do you really install shingles, or only metal?
Both. Metal and standing seam are what we are known for, but we install and repair asphalt shingle roofs too.
Can you repair a few shingles instead of replacing the whole roof?
Often, yes. If the rest of the roof is in good shape, a repair may be all you need, and we will tell you so.
Should I choose shingles or metal?
It depends on your budget, how long you plan to stay, and the look you want. We will walk you through both options for your roof.
Do you help with insurance claims?
Yes. We can inspect storm or hail damage, document it, and help you understand the claim process.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. Call (812) 225-4259 or request a free estimate online.
